It's been a rough couple of weeks. As such, I've lost a lot of time - time that could've and should've been spent, say, reading, and keeping things clean, and getting things in line for 2020. {Managing to make my bed today was a pretty large success.}
What I have been doing is re-watching The X-Files from the beginning. I haven't done a re-watch in a long time - I think one time I just watched the episodes that comprised the overarching mythology - so I was surprised that there were episodes in the first season that I'd never seen before{1X14, "Lazarus", was one of them}. I was also surprised, after the extremely bad Season 11{after which Gillian Anderson said she was finished with playing Dana Scully}, at how solid the first season was. Some of the episodes aren't super great, but most of them are very good. I've been enjoying re-watching this show so much that I considered subscribing to MUFON's newsletter. In my senior year of undergrad, I had a lot of work to do{I was a double major and had attempted a dual BA/BFA, only to discover in my senior year that I had to drop the BFA unless I wanted to stay an extra semester}, and was at some kind of ridiculous credit load{I believe it was 23 credit hours for the Fall semester and 21 in the spring}, on top of making art for my senior art show, being the president of the college's Gay-Straight Alliance, and being an intern for the Chaplain's Office. In addition to all this fun stuff, I had also volunteered to do makeup for a friend's senior directed show - which then turned into doing costumes for the friend's senior directed show, and designing the flyer for the senior directed show - and, looking back on it, I have no idea how I managed to do all of that, except that I had an Art History professor who wasn't too terribly concerned about when our assignments came in as long as they came in, so I'd go home after rehearsal and watch The X-Files instead of doing homework. Besides, it's hard to want to do homework after being in class from 9 am - 4:45 pm...did I mention that I was also a teaching assistant for a first-year class and a subject tutor for the Religion department and in a production of Suor Angelica prior to the senior directed show? No? Okay. I've got to get ready for work now, but I'm hoping that soon I'll break free of all this time I've lost due to depression and be able to get some things done.
